Add a clipboard history limit (default 10) that excludes pinned entries and prunes overflow by timestamp and ID, including the Android recopy regression fix. Apply retention during capture, configuration changes, import and main-side synchronization, and support one-sided integer bounds in the settings UI.
Validated with an arm64 simulator build and code signing, format/lint checks, all three CTest suites, and simulator checks for immediate pruning, zero/minimum bounds, persistence, Chinese localization and reset.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Configure a clipboard history limit, defaulting to 10 entries. Pinned items are retained; setting the limit to zero keeps only pinned items.
History limits are applied immediately and maintained as items are captured, synchronized, or imported.
Bug Fixes
Numeric settings with a minimum or maximum now respect the configured bound when edited.
Documentation
Updated the synchronization guide with details about history retention.
Adds a configurable clipboard history limit, defaulting to 10 in iOS configuration. The store marks excess active, unpinned entries as deleted and prunes after captures, sync merges, and database imports. Integer settings now enforce a configured lower or upper bound independently.

Summary
Store retention policy common/ClipboardStore.swift, tests/backup/ClipboardTests.swift
The store clamps configured limits to zero or greater and marks overflow records deleted. Captures also trigger pruning. Tests cover ordering, pinned and deleted entries, zero limits, and limit changes.
The iOS configuration adds a history limit with a default of 10 and a minimum of zero. Reload and save paths apply it through the Swift frontend. Integer fields enforce either configured bound, and the setting has a Simplified Chinese translation.
Sync and import retention common/ClipboardStore.swift, common/ClipboardSync.swift, tests/backup/ClipboardTests.swift, docs/synchronization.md
The store prunes after database imports and sync merges. Tests cover pruning and synchronization behavior. The guide documents the limit, its pruning paths, and archive-reader behavior.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to f7309
Routine clipboard use can keep growing stored and synchronized history despite the limit. Unpinning or restoring entries can also exceed it. Resolve these behaviors before merging unless the retention tradeoff is explicitly accepted.

Reapply retention when an entry becomes active and unpinned.
With a limit of zero, unpinning an entry leaves an active unpinned entry. With a full history, undoing a deletion after another capture can also leave the store over its limit. togglePin(_:) and restore(_:) do not call pruneHistory(in:); enforce the limit in those write transactions. For undo, preserve the intended restored entry when choosing which entry expires. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the write transactions in togglePin(_:) and restore(_:) to reapply the
history limit with pruneHistory(in:). When undoing a deletion, ensure pruning
expires another eligible entry rather than the entry being restored.

Major · Performance & Scalability · Heavy lift
Bound the cost of retention tombstones.
After the first ten unpinned captures, each new distinct capture leaves another full-text tombstone. entries(_:) still fetches every tombstone, and ClipboardSync.swift includes them in sync snapshots. The active-item limit therefore does not bound database growth or sync payloads. Add a safe tombstone-compaction or acknowledgement policy before routine capture makes these costs grow indefinitely.
