Esc and the window close button bypassed Cancel. The download kept running with nothing reading it, so Qt buffered the rest of the archive in memory, and an extraction finished without meta.json, leaving the docset unloaded until restart.

While downloads run, Esc and close now cancel them first; while an extraction runs, which cannot be canceled, the dialog stays open.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • The docsets dialog now stays open while downloads or extraction are in progress, preventing it from closing before those operations finish.
    • If you try to close it during active or queued downloads, the downloads are canceled and the dialog remains open. During extraction, the dialog stays open until extraction is complete.

Walkthrough

DocsetsDialog now checks for active downloads, queued downloads, and extraction activity before closing. It cancels downloads and keeps the dialog open when downloads are active or queued. It also keeps the dialog open during extraction.

Docsets dialog close handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Handle dialog close requests
src/libs/ui/docsetsdialog.h, src/libs/ui/docsetsdialog.cpp
DocsetsDialog declares and implements a reject() override. It cancels active or queued downloads and defers closing during downloads or extraction. Otherwise, it calls QDialog::reject().

Priority: Normal

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 6d088

Pressing Esc or closing the dialog during the index download phase of a docset update can leave the previously installed docset missing. Resolve this, for example by keeping the old docset until its replacement is ready, or explicitly accept the existing Cancel-button behavior, before merging.

Preserve the installed docset when canceling an index download.

During an update, processDownload() removes the installed docset before it starts the tarix index download. If the user presses Esc or closes the window during that index download, the new reject() path calls cancelDownloads(). The canceled reply does not extract the replacement, and cancelDownloads() deletes the downloaded archive, so the installed docset can remain missing.

The existing Cancel button already called cancelDownloads() before this PR. The PR still exposes the same data-loss behavior through two additional user actions.
