superplane-canvas-builder: Common Patterns use wrong edge channel for HTTP nodes #24

Open

Description

@bender-rodriguez-unit1

Problem

The Common Patterns section in superplane-canvas-builder/SKILL.md shows all edges using channel: default. This is only correct for trigger → first-node edges. HTTP (and most action components) output on success/failure, not default.

Using channel: default on edges from HTTP nodes → visually disconnected nodes in UI + events stop flowing.

Correct output channels

Component Outputs
Triggers default
HTTP success, failure
If true, false
Approval approved, rejected
Merge success, timeout, fail
Filter default (only on true)

Suggested fix

  1. Update pattern examples: use channel: success for action→action edges
  2. Add output channel reference table to the skill
  3. Reinforce: always run superplane index components --name <x> to verify channels before wiring

How I hit this

Built a 40-node canvas following skill patterns literally. All edges used default. Nodes appeared disconnected in UI, events stopped after first HTTP node. Fixed by changing to channel: success.
