IMO, it's important to know the exact version, including micro version. I don't know whether version includes it actually.

Counting the thread, I see three core team members in favour, one +0, two 0 (including me). Since a few core team members are in favour, I don't mind landing this.

I've pushed two tweaks though. The first to only change the <title> of the index page, since html_short_title also feeds the breadcrumb navigation. And the second lowercases "documentation" to be consistent with every other page, where the <title> suffix is "Python X documentation", and the og:title meta tag.
