This post compares Netlify with five alternatives for hosting a full-stack TypeScript app and its Postgres database: Prisma Compute with Prisma Postgres, Railway, Render, Fly.io, and Vercel with a Marketplace database.

Changes

  • The summary under the title now says Prisma Compute has been generally available since August 2026. The body gave the date (2026-08-28), but the summary did not.
  • The Vercel profile now says Vercel Postgres is no longer available and new projects add Postgres from the Vercel Marketplace, where Prisma Postgres, Neon and Supabase are listed. The profile said Vercel has no Postgres of its own but did not say that Vercel Postgres, which older guides still name, was discontinued.
  • The Fly.io "Best for" line now says a Fly.io Managed Postgres cluster runs in the one region you choose. The line described an app close to users on several continents without the database's region, which the "Several regions" row and the Fly.io comparison already give.
  • The sources paragraph after the Fly.io comparison gains a line with the 2026-11-06 check date for the Vercel and Fly.io pages behind these lines.
  • updatedAt is now 2026-11-08, and these changes have their own 2026-11-08 update-history line. The 2026-11-06 line is left as it shipped in blog(prisma-vs-netlify): Fly.io's $1 free trial for new accounts, ORM marked optional in the intro list #8752.

Not edited: titles, the opening paragraph and the disclosure line.

Sources checked 2026-11-06

Re-checked 2026-11-08 04:31Z: all four quotes still read the same on the same pages.

Checks

  • Claims check: 4 matches on the diff and this body, all the Prisma Compute availability date sourced above (2 on the page: the summary and the update-history line; 2 in this body); none a claim for Prisma on the do-not-claim list.
  • Public text lint on this body and both commit messages: 0 hits.
  • The title, metaTitle, metaDescription and opening paragraph match main byte for byte; no table on the page changed.
  • Not built locally: the change is text in one MDX file, in the same frontmatter strings and paragraphs as before.

Explanation

The title names three changes that appear in the summary: Prisma Compute availability in the post summary, the Vercel Postgres retirement, and the Fly.io database region. The raw summary and objectives confirm each one. The title is specific and matches the changeset. It is long at 117 characters and uses a colon list, but it is still clearly related to the main changes.

…ory line

Sets updatedAt to 2026-11-08 and moves this change's history entry (Compute
availability in the summary, Vercel Postgres retirement, Fly.io database region)
to its own 2026-11-08 line, so the 2026-11-06 line keeps only the Fly.io trial
and ORM changes it described when it shipped.
