I've observed this in WP 3.5 from multiple users, primarily from hosted trovebox.com users (though there are probably self-hosted users who serve over https).
To reproduce:
Install plugin and create app at your own site.
Configure plugin on your WP site. Use https in your URL on that page.
Add a new post and add image. Select OpenPhoto. Observe the blankness.
