Replaced `rich.text.Text(text)` instantiation with `len(text)` in the `_safe_truncate` hot path. This eliminates a severe performance bottleneck during the TUI render loop by avoiding thousands of unnecessary object allocations per second. rich.text.Text(text)instantiation in_safe_truncatewith a simple built-inlen(text)call. Also removed misleading mention of "Rich's measurement" in the docstring, since.plainstrips all formatting and provides the same length as a standard string.🎯 Why:
The
_safe_truncatefunction is called multiple times per row on every render cycle in the TUI loop. Instantiating a fullrich.text.Textobject just to access its plain string length is a massive, unnecessary performance bottleneck that spikes CPU usage and increases rendering latency.📊 Impact:
Significantly reduces CPU usage and memory allocations during TUI rendering. This makes fast scroll operations much smoother and prevents thousands of unnecessary object allocations per second.
