on Jun 5, 2025 My current folder layout is
- testworkspace3
- emmet
- simple
I open the folder testworkspace3, and it already seems to be added as a Python project by default (probably because I already have a venv set up for it). After manually adding emmet as a separate Python project with the context menu, I'm unable to add simple as a separate Python project with the context menu.

on Feb 4, 2026 this is just really challenging to do because of the menu constraints. If we get a lot of complaints / questions on it maybe we can circle back but I don't think it is worth the effort atm
Can we hide this if it is already selected to reduce confusion. I think renaming this item to "Add as Python project" would be helpful as well since we plan to introduce project creation this could be confused as creating a new project from scratch.
