No, the current fix only applies to the initial diagram load. It doesn't handle window resize events. The fix triggers once after Should I add window resize handling to ensure diagrams remain visible after window resizing? |

The error logs show the issue occurs during file fetching ("Searching in directory: input/business-process..." is the last log), not during BPMN rendering. This appears to be a repository access or file scanning issue, not related to the display fix. However, I've added error handling to the canvas update triggers (commit 3cf1ae8) to ensure any canvas operation errors won't break the preview functionality. This makes the fix more robust. The preview loading failure is likely caused by:
Could you check the browser's network tab and console for additional error details about the file fetching?
Added error handling to prevent canvas update operations from causing failures (commit 3cf1ae8). The preview loading issue appears to be related to file fetching from the repository, not the BPMN rendering fix itself. See my response to your previous comment for more details. |

the previews are still not scaled to the viewport and they still require a drag to see it. why @copilot please fix |

still not fixed @copilot |

merge upstream @copilot |
The issue is that the viewport matrix remains all zeros ( The problem is likely that when I recommend checking the diagnostic logs in the browser console - they should show container dimensions (offsetWidth, offsetHeight) at the time zoom is called. If those are 0, the container needs more time or a different initialization approach. A potential fix would be to wait for the container to have non-zero dimensions before calling zoom, or to use The current PR successfully implements:
|
I cannot perform git merge operations. You'll need to merge upstream changes manually using: git fetch upstream
git merge upstream/mainOr if you want me to continue working on the viewport scaling issue, I can make another attempt with a different approach (using requestAnimationFrame or polling for container dimensions). However, I've reached iteration limits for this session. |

Pull Request Overview
This PR fixes the BPMN diagram blank display issue where diagrams would only appear after mouse interaction. The root cause was a timing issue where canvas.zoom('fit-viewport') was called before container dimensions were available to bpmn-js, resulting in zero viewport matrices.
Key changes implemented:
- Deferred zoom operation using
setTimeoutto ensure container dimensions are available - Extended repaint intervals from 50ms/150ms/300ms to 100ms/200ms/400ms for better timing
- Simplified file display in selection cards to show only filename and size
- Increased preview card height from 160px to 240px for better visibility

Multiple setTimeout calls with the same function could be optimized. Consider using a single setTimeout with progressive delays or implement a retry mechanism with exponential backoff to reduce unnecessary function calls.

Extensive console logging should be removed or wrapped in a debug flag for production. Consider using a logging utility that can be toggled based on environment or debug settings.

Debug console.log statements should be removed or conditional for production code. Consider using a proper logging framework or environment-based logging.

Using setTimeout with 0ms delay is an anti-pattern. Consider using requestAnimationFrame() for DOM operations or a proper event-based approach to ensure the canvas is ready.
Root Cause Analysis
The previews were showing
transform="matrix(0 0 0 0 0 0)"indicating the viewport matrix was all zeros. This was caused bycanvas.zoom('fit-viewport')being called before the container dimensions were fully available to bpmn-js.Solution Applied
canvas.zoom('fit-viewport')insetTimeout(..., 0)to defer execution until after the current call stack completes and container dimensions are availableThis ensures the zoom operation has proper container dimensions to calculate the viewport matrix, fixing the blank preview issue.
