GitPulse — AI Code Review Summarizer

Paste a GitHub PR URL and get a structured AI-powered code review in seconds. GitPulse fetches the PR diff via the GitHub REST API, sends it to Claude for analysis, and returns a structured review with a risk level, per-file comments, and actionable suggestions.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js 20+
• Docker (for PostgreSQL) or an existing PostgreSQL 16 instance
• A GitHub personal access token (read-only, public repos)
• An OpenAI API key

1. Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/kiranannadatha8/gitpulse.git
cd gitpulse

2. Start PostgreSQL

docker compose up -d

3. Configure the backend

cd backend
cp .env.example .env
# Fill in DATABASE_URL, ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, GITHUB_TOKEN in .env

4. Install dependencies and run migrations

# Backend
cd backend
npm install
npm run db:migrate
npm run dev

# Frontend (separate terminal)
cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev

The backend runs on http://localhost:3001 and the frontend on http://localhost:5173.

GET /api/reviews

Returns review history for the current browser session.
