Add the default-on “Mask sensitive data (such as passwords)” clipboard option, matching Android’s order and Chinese translation. Detect org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType, persist sensitivity, and mask history and suggestion previews while pasting the original text.

Validated with the arm64 simulator build and signing, format/lint checks, all three CTest suites, and an independent sample app on the already booted iPhone 17 simulator.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Sensitive clipboard content, such as passwords, is now masked in clipboard history and suggestions by default.
    • You can turn sensitive-content masking off in the clipboard settings.
    • Clipboard suggestions preserve sensitive-content status when refreshed, hidden, or reopened, and clear it when the same text is captured as ordinary content.

Walkthrough

Clipboard capture now tracks sensitive content from pasteboard detection through storage and suggestions. A frontend setting controls whether sensitive clipboard text is masked in clipboard entries and suggestion previews.

Changes: Clipboard sensitivity and masking

Layer / File(s) Summary
Capture and retain sensitivity
common/ClipboardStore.swift, common/ClipboardSuggestion.swift, keyboard/KeyboardViewController.swift, uipanel/VirtualKeyboard.swift
Clipboard capture passes sensitivity into the store and suggestion state. The store updates sensitivity on matching-record recapture, and suggestion state tracks it through presentation and clearing.
Configure and render masked previews
iosfrontend/iosfrontend.h, common/runtime-api.h, common/runtime_keyboard.cpp, common/ClipboardSuggestion.swift, uipanel/Clipboard.swift, uipanel/VirtualKeyboard.swift, tests/backup/ClipboardTests.swift, po/zh_CN.po
The frontend exposes a masking option that defaults to enabled. Clipboard entries and suggestion previews format text using sensitivity and the masking setting. Tests cover masking, preview limits, and sensitivity state and persistence. The Chinese translation includes the masking option label.

Sensitive clipboard entries can appear unmasked in history when they are synced into a store that already holds the same text. Preserve the sensitive flag during sync deduplication before merging, so the masking feature does not leak passwords in that case.

Keep sensitivity when a first sync merges into an existing record.

On a first sync, an incoming entry with no baseline can match a live main record by text. merge then records only the alias and never writes the incoming record. The main record keeps sensitive == false, and history shows its text unmasked. Preserve the sensitive flag in this case:

           if let base = baseline[entry.id] ?? baseline[current.id], current.id == base.id,
             current.hasSameContent(as: base)

Update merge’s text-deduplication path so a live incoming sensitive record
matched to a live, non-sensitive main record preserves sensitivity even when no
baseline exists. Persist the updated record and assign it back to main[index],
without changing the existing baseline-based edit-propagation path.
