Issue: I'm trying to create a shortcut to run custom JavaScript (userscript) and when I create the blank shortcut (attachment 1) I get the popup saying to allow userscripts in the extension's settings (attachment 2). The link in the popup does not redirect me to the extension's settings page and I did it manually by pressing manage extension, however upon doing this I could not find the setting to allow userscripts (attachment 3).
I was not able to install the extension through Firefox/Zen extension store because the version listed there was non-functioning so I installed it through the GitHub repo's releases page (exact: https://github.com/crittermike/shortkeys/releases/download/v5.0.1/shortkeys-5.0.1-firefox.zip). When I tried installing the extension by file in the Firefox/Zen extension page it said it could not be installed because it was unverified. I got around this by doing the following:
- Went to
about:config.
- Searched for
xpinstall.signatures.required.
- Double-click the preference to change its value from true to false.
- Restarted browser and reinstalled extension.
I'm pretty confident that the extension isn't showing the option to allow userscripts because of the method I went about installing Shortkeys, but I'm not 100% sure.
Any information that you can give about this and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
