It is necessary to change ES-es to ES because, as I just noticed, it is not possible to use it outside of Spain (Es-es). Considering that most Spanish speakers live outside that country (I'm from Argentina ES-Ar), we will not be able to see the interface translated into Spanish. The other alternative would be to create separate folders for the variables, which would be cumbersome.
I hope it is possible to make this change.
