Bandwidth Testing between nodes And alert on degradation

Wondering if this makes sense to implement or is it somehow already supported via ping duration ?
I was thinking if pods can run iperf3 tests across the mesh of nodes it would be useful for my use case of monitoring any fluctuation in bandwidth
