BioVera Pro is a full-featured desktop application designed to streamline pharmacy operations. Built with Java and JavaFX, it provides an intuitive interface for managing products, sales, suppliers, orders, clients, and employees — all backed by a MySQL database with role-based access control.

Whether you're running a small independent pharmacy or managing a larger operation, BioVera Pro gives you the tools to track inventory, process sales, manage supplier orders, and generate insightful reports — all from a single, polished desktop interface.

📋 Prerequisites

Before running BioVera Pro, make sure you have the following installed:

🚀 Getting Started

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/Raed-Jani/pharmacy_management_system.git
cd pharmacy

2. Set up the database

Start your MySQL server, then run the provided SQL script:

mysql -u root -p < database/pharmacie_db.sql

This will:

Create the pharmacie_db database with all required tables
Set up database indexes and optimized views
Create MySQL users with appropriate privileges
Insert sample data for testing

Note

Default database users created by the script:

User	Password	Privileges
`admin_pharmacie`	`admin_password_123`	Full access
`employe_pharmacie`	`employe_password_123`	Limited access

3. Configure the database connection

Open src/com/pharmacie/utils/DBConnection.java and set your MySQL root password:

4. Compile and run

Option A — Using IntelliJ IDEA (Recommended)

Open the project in IntelliJ IDEA
Right-click the resources/ folder → Mark Directory as → Resources Root
Add all JARs from lib/ and lib/lib/ to your module dependencies

Add VM options for JavaFX modules:

--module-path lib/lib --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.fxml,javafx.graphics,javafx.base

Run Launcher.java

Option B — Using the command line

5. Build a standalone executable (Windows)

A PowerShell script is included to package the app as a native Windows .exe using jpackage:

.\Build_BioVera_Exe.ps1

The executable will be generated at output_exe/BioVera Pro/BioVera Pro.exe.

You can also create a desktop shortcut:

.\Create_Desktop_Shortcut.ps1

Warning

These are development credentials. Change all default passwords before deploying to a production environment.
