Users may want to sign large payloads with this plugin, and they may want to know what are typical limits when it comes to payload size.
Is it the max_request_size documented in https://developer.hashicorp.com/vault/docs/internals/limits#request-size? Any risk something else breaks for requests smaller than the default max_request_size (32 MiB)? If not, how much can the max_request_size be increased before another limitation appears?

Not that I'm aware of, it is a Vault limit not something that is managed by this plugin.

I'm not aware of another specific limitation. You have to consider the memory and CPU time consumption more carefully if you want to sign large payloads.

Yes, the plugin itself does not set a limit.
