Cut chart release v1.8.0 (develop → main), promoting the 9 commits merged since v1.7.1 (released 2026-06-15).

Why minor (not patch)

#262 places datasets on a network mount while MySQL stays local — a real change to PVC placement at install time, so this batch is not inert. Bump version + appVersion 1.7.1 → 1.8.0 in lockstep.
