This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") applies to each contribution that you submit to IncidentRelay after this Agreement is adopted by the project.
By expressly accepting this Agreement in connection with a pull request or other contribution, you agree to the terms below.
"Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including source code, documentation, tests, designs, or other material, that you intentionally submit to the IncidentRelay project for inclusion in the project.
"Project" means IncidentRelay and the repositories maintained as part of the IncidentRelay project.
"Project Owner" means the copyright holder or entity authorized to maintain and license IncidentRelay.
You retain ownership of the copyright in your Contribution. This Agreement is a license grant; it is not an assignment of your copyright.
You grant the Project Owner and recipients of software distributed by the Project Owner a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and otherwise use your Contribution as part of IncidentRelay.
You also grant the Project Owner the right to sublicense and relicense your Contribution, including as part of IncidentRelay, under source-available, open-source, proprietary, commercial, or other software-license terms chosen by the Project Owner.
This includes the right to offer IncidentRelay containing your Contribution under both the project's public source license and separate commercial license terms.
To the extent you can grant patent rights, you grant the Project Owner and recipients of IncidentRelay a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free patent license under patent claims that you control and that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution alone or by combination of your Contribution with the Project as submitted.
If a recipient institutes patent litigation alleging that the Contribution or IncidentRelay infringes a patent, that recipient's patent license granted under this section terminates to the extent permitted by applicable law.
You represent that:
- you are legally entitled to grant the rights in this Agreement;
- the Contribution is your original work, or you have sufficient rights to submit it under this Agreement;
- to your knowledge, the Contribution does not intentionally include material that cannot legally be contributed to the Project;
- if your employer or another organization owns rights in the Contribution, you have obtained authorization to submit it and grant the rights in this Agreement.
If you are contributing on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept this Agreement on its behalf, or that an authorized representative has separately approved the contribution.
If a Contribution includes third-party material, identify that material and its license clearly in the pull request or accompanying documentation. Do not submit third-party code whose license is incompatible with IncidentRelay's licensing model.
The Project Owner is not required to use, merge, distribute, support, or retain any Contribution.
Unless required by applicable law or agreed separately in writing, your Contribution is provided without warranties or conditions of any kind.
You understand that IncidentRelay may be distributed under the Elastic License 2.0 or another public license selected by the Project Owner and may also be licensed to other parties under separate commercial or proprietary terms.
No revenue share, royalty, fee, or other payment is owed to you merely because your Contribution is included in a commercially licensed version of IncidentRelay.
For a GitHub pull request, accept this Agreement by posting the following comment on the pull request:

The project's GitHub workflow records the acceptance together with your numeric GitHub user ID, the accepted CLA version, the date of acceptance, and the originating pull request/comment.
You only need to accept a particular version of this Agreement once. If this Agreement changes, the Project may require you to accept the new version before additional Contributions are merged.
A Contribution must not be merged unless the contributor has expressly accepted the applicable version of this Agreement.
This Agreement does not retroactively change the license under which a Contribution was previously submitted and accepted before the Project adopted this CLA. Existing contributions remain subject to the rights already granted for those contributions unless the contributor separately agrees otherwise.
This Agreement governs the rights granted for Contributions submitted after its adoption unless the contributor and Project Owner enter into a separate written agreement covering those Contributions.
