Contributing

Requirements

  • Rust stable toolchain
  • cargo in PATH

Before opening a PR

Run all checks from repository root:

cargo fmt --all --check
cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -- -D warnings
cargo test --workspace

If you change parsers, also run deep scan compare locally (with your asset setup) and include diff summary:

$env:ZENKIT_DEEP_SCAN='1'
cargo run -p zenkit_test --quiet

Scope guidelines

  • Keep changes focused and small.
  • Preserve behavior parity with reference ZenKit where applicable.
  • Add or update tests for any parser behavior change.
