DeDRM not working on a new book released 10/24/25

A book just came out today and when I tried to use Jadehawk's method to get the Key, I got this error:

BookOpen error 14 Missing magic bytes
Invalid book format, maybe KF8/MOBI?

I was able to successfully strip the DRM from a couple other books today. When I copied the file into calibre, instead of the normal .kfx format, it shows as .azw format so that may have something to do with it.

I tried a few other, older methods that did not work either.

Surprised something brand new wouldn't be kfx. Did you also download at least one kfx book at the same time? Did you import the k4i file into the Kindle for PC/Mac section of DeDRM's customization?

Don't ask as you are trying to strip the DRM from a Kindle Unlimited eBook. Many don't take kindly to that.

I just checked the book. it isnt on kindle unlimited least no mention on page info.n

It is on Kindle Unlimited on Amazon US and Amazon UK.]

I'd want proof that this was purchased.

Out of curiousity, what older methods are you referring to? With a book this new, the other option would be an E-ink Kindle that hasn't updated to firmware 5.18.5. (Or possibly you could get a Kindle for Android setup working, but that's probably trickier than using Satsuoni's K4PC 2.8.0 tool at this point. Certainly not worth it for one book.)

You mean it didn't decrypt? But other books still will for you with that method?

Jadehawks method decrypted the others but not that one book.

I understand that. I was talking about the Kindle for Android method.

I just tried the one book that I've been having issues with with that method, but I was able to successfully dedrm books in the past with that method.

Okay, was just curious if the Android method had stopped working altogether at this point.
