Question for someone with a Colorsoft Kindle / I would like my coloured eBooks

Even though I have a Kindle Oasis I've been using the Kindle for PC method to download my ebooks + DeDRM them for a while now.
This is because I realised that downloading the Kindle ebooks from the physical Kindle would result in black and white images (book cover, any illustrations in the book etc.).
I know I can always upload my own coloured versions of the book covers into Calibre, however, I have a lot of light novels and comics that are in full colour and it would be a shame to not have them in full colour.

As I mentioned, I've been using the Kindle for PC method to download my ebooks, but as most people have found out, any books published since April can no longer be downloaded via the Kindle of PC app (well the old version anyway), and even those which can be downloaded, can't be DeDRMed.

So my question is two-fold:

1. Is there a way to download full-colour kfx files that are published post-April 2025?
2. If anyone has a Colorsoft Kindle, is it possible to download and DeDRM the ebooks like with the normal kindles? And are the resulting ePubs in colour?

1. Yes, I'm not going to link directly to it because the less attention drawn to it the better. But look for the most recently updated fork of this repo. If you try it and need help, ask over there.

Incidentally, another option for color is an older E-ink Kindle which receives azw3/kf8 files instead of kfx. Those would be from the Kindle Keyboard (3rd generation Kindle) through the 1st Paperwhite. I have a Kindle Touch myself.

yeah, I tried looking for one of those old devices -- can't find any on eBay...
