Would a non-WordPress standalone version of L.O.R.E. be useful?
#1
Thanks to everyone who's checked out L.O.R.E. this week — the response has been awesome.
Right now L.O.R.E. is a WordPress plugin. I know not every grid runs WordPress — some of you are on bare Robust installs with a static front page, or a different CMS entirely.
I'm considering a lightweight standalone version: no WordPress dependency, no admin UI to start — just a small PHP app you drop on any webserver, point at your Robust DB via a config file, and it renders the same interactive map (search, teleport links, color theming) that the plugin does.
Before I put dev time into it, I'd rather hear from people who'd actually use it:
Are you running a grid without WordPress right now?
Would a config-file-based setup (no GUI) be acceptable, or does it need a proper settings screen to be useful to you?
Anything the WP version does that you'd specifically need in a standalone build?
Drop a comment or a 👍 if this is something you'd use — trying to gauge real demand before committing to it. Appreciate the input either way!
