Users with userid 1 cannot use standard authentication

Per the README, users with id=1 should be able to use standard authentication. However, all users are redirected to sso login page when the plugin is enabled

I have just pushed up a new version of the initial version.
The readme was indeed out of date, and I have updated it.

Now, if there is a problem with the configuration, it should go back to default authentication.
Also, if you want to exclude some users from SAML authentication, you will need to use the users_no_saml configuration setting.
