@glichtner, this concept set was added for your use case (project 5). It currently points to a non-standard LOINC Part (LP74704-5), which isn't usable as-is, so I need your input before finalizing it.
The item comes from the LOINC CARE instrument: 52687-1, "Decision authority documented [CARE]" (non-standard). Its standard answer concept is:
45877806 / LA11786-3: "The patient has designated a decision-maker (if the patient is unable to make decisions) which is documented in the medical record." (LOINC, standard, but a Meas Value / Answer, i.e. a response value, not an observation).
What should this variable capture?
- Whether decision authority is documented (yes/no flag), i.e. the variable. The exact LOINC concept for this (
52687-1) is non-standard
- The recorded answer/value, e.g. "a decision-maker has been designated and documented". Here
45877806 / LA11786-3 fits exactly and is standard.
Could you confirm which of the two you mean, and whether 45877806 / LA11786-3 works for you?
I'll leave the set in draft until I hear back.
