Problem to solve
The Foundry OSD Start page currently mixes final media creation controls, readiness summaries, and configuration readiness for deeper expert pages. Some media-related options are also split between the General configuration page and the Start page, which makes the final media creation flow less clear.
Proposed solution
Refocus the Start page on final media creation.
The Start page should expose the final media output controls and a focused media options expander containing settings that directly affect the generated ISO or USB media:
- Architecture.
- Boot signature mode.
- WinPE boot language.
- Driver options.
- USB partition style.
- USB format mode.
Configuration areas such as Network, Deploy, Connect, Autopilot, Secrets, and Customization should remain visible as readiness checks with review actions, but should not become editable Start page settings.
Alternatives considered
Keeping media options split between General configuration and Start works, but it forces users to leave the final creation screen to fix options that directly affect media generation.
Use case
A user reaches the Start page to create or update boot media and can review or adjust all final media build options in one place, while still using dedicated pages for deeper expert configuration.
