Unexpected behaviour when clicking activity date filter

I find it confusing that clicking a date in the calendar sets a range of dates

Expected behaviour
When I click on a date in this filter I expect only activities on that date to be shown

Actual behaviour
When I click on a date in this filter it adds it as is the first date in a 'custom rage'
When I click a date nearer the end date of that custom range in sets a new end date for the custom rage

Suggested solution
Custom ranges are only enabled by interacting with the 'Custom range' fields at the bottom of that filter panel. Clicking a date in the main calendar shows only that date.
