How to have work vs personal subscriptions and switch between? #802

So if work ends up paying for a work subscription, but I want to sequester that from a personal subscription, is there an easy way to do that? Or is that not something very easy to manage/support right now with any system/setup? |

Today: two Claude Code config roots (CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=~/.claude-work style aliases) give you two fully separate installs, each with its own subscription login. That's the supported shape. Issue #1584 tracks making LifeOS fully config-root-clean so this works without rough edges; it's under active consideration. |

So not going to fully continue this, but my thing is NOT having 2 separate installs that track learnings/etc different, but instead the same agent just using subscription from work vs personal. The major problem is that Claude Code itself doesn't do this natively. How I solved it is using Linux unshare namespace/sandbox primitives to map in the subscription file separately. Not very portable, but I don't need it to be for me. |
