Request for advice: Upgrading from V4.0.3 has benefits? What version to pick? #1836

Hi, I've read complains about v7.*behavior on not frontier models, v5 being tokens burning and v6 being tokens saving. My question is: I'll have benefits moving from v4 to a new version of PAI? Thank you in advance |

Honest answer: 7.x is a different system from v4 — the Algorithm runs against testable claims, the installer is commit-pinned with printed checksums and backs itself up before touching anything, and 7.40.4's notes (the Receipts Release) walk through exactly what changed and why. If your v4 is heavily patched, the installer is additive and won't clobber your setup; read the release notes first and decide from there. On token burn: 7.x spends by discovered difficulty rather than fixed ceremony, and the recent releases cut always-on context substantially. |
