User unknown with MDI to enter an MDI icon.
Consistancy with other UI

Describe the solution you'd like

Can you incorporate more default UI elements/pickers from HA default?
This way the MDI picker could be used, to ease non technical users to select the correct input.
And the date picker would be more in line with other HA UI
