Research inquiry: CAO’s protected PyPI publish job

Hello CAO release maintainers,

Your release guide describes TestPyPI publication and smoke tests followed by maintainer approval for the production PyPI upload. Would the release owner be willing to answer a brief question about that workflow?

I’m investigating whether information available before approval can help predict whether the approved publish job succeeds or fails; I don’t yet know whether there is useful predictive signal.

Approximately how many approved production publish-job executions occur monthly, and have any naturally failed or timed out in the past six months? If the workflow fits, would you consider a conversation about passive observation of approval timing and outcomes?

No installation, pipeline changes, source-code contents, secrets, or production access are requested at this stage.
