Since this binary here has not been provided as a notarized (this is not free of charge) .dmg file, apple usually block anything like this.

Once you see this and checked file integrity yourself e.g. trust this project. Close the Gate Keeper Message. Open Settings => Search Gate Keeper (Data and privacy is the section) there you find a button to open it anyway after confirming admin rights.

Usually if you install this as gh cli extension (or in case of the of the original nektos/act via a package manager brew).
The binary might not be flagged as downloaded from internet and will not be blocked by gatekeeper.

Even make requested root permissions without telling what for, and failed after 40 minutes on a powerful M4 Max, and was only possible to start after suppressing all the failing lints anyway, so I think I won't try again myself.

I am not using the make file myself, since tests run more reliable in CI.
Could be the cause of lint failures, since local linter installs complain about old code while CI linter only complain about changed code.
Some tests rely on the Operating System, others need qemu set up.

Building is as easy as running go build, then act-cli is in your folder. I might need to simplify the makefile, if it runs linters by default and you didn't change code.

PREFIX=/usr/local/bin the default needs root rights, but this is not unusual for me, would suggesting another prefix in such an error be good?
