Subject: [PATCH 1/2] CI: run the test suite and checks on every pull request

Adds .github/workflows/ci.yml running the test suite and the type checker or analyzer on every pull request and push to main.

Subject: [PATCH 2/2] Run tests through a shell glob

node --test with a quoted glob relies on Node expanding it, which Node 18
and 22 do not; the shell expands it on every version.
