Community Edition is the open foundation for building and operating governed AI workers on infrastructure you control.
You can use the open edition to define workers in code, give them tools with explicit permissions, require review before sensitive actions, execute work durably, inspect every transition, and extend the framework without depending on an ActivLayer cloud account.
Community Edition has:
- no mandatory telemetry;
- one organization with up to three users;
- no product-enforced limit on workers, runs, or models;
- no proprietary network dependency in the execution path; and
- public interfaces that are developed in the open.
The community owns the worker: its specification, SDK, runtime, tools, permissions, approvals, events, and extension points.
Commercial offerings help organizations manage fleets: centralized identity and policy, multi-environment operations, high availability, organization-wide reporting, curated integrations, compliance capabilities, and supported deployment.
Features may mature at different rates, but the open edition will remain independently useful.
Community support is provided through GitHub Issues and Discussions on a best-effort basis. Please use the issue templates and include a minimal reproduction when reporting a defect.
